A Note About Fees

Joe tries to make his services available to all while maintaining fiscal responsibility. If you feel drawn to the mindfulness-based counseling approach that Joe offers but cannot afford the current rates for sessions, please call to discuss other options (sliding scale, donation-based sessions). For those who can afford the full fee, your generosity is deeply appreciated and is an important factor in Joe being able to offer reduced-fee sessions. He cannot guarantee that there will be sliding scale or donation-based sessions available at any given time.

Standard Rates

  • Intake session (60 minutes): $120
  • 60-minute counseling session: $120
  • 45-minute counseling session: $105
  • Administrative Fee (preparing records/completing documentation for third-parties): $60 per 30 minutes; 30 minute minimum

Insurance

Joe is considered an out-of-network provider. If your insurance company accepts electronic health claim submission, Joe will file claims for you. Otherwise, he will provide you with the necessary documentation to file claims. Whether or not you are reimbursed for services will depend upon your individual health care plan.

Payment

The preferred method of payment is by check. Gilbert Counseling accepts cash, checks, or credit cards (Visa, MC, Discover, AMEX). HSA accounts may be used to pay for therapy services.

No ­show/Cancellation policy

If you do not show for your appointment or have not provided notice of cancellation at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a $75 fee that is due before your next scheduled appointment. If you miss 3 sessions, the therapeutic relationship may be terminated. In this case, Joe Gilbert will provide you with a list of other providers in the area.
